Course Up Date

Freddie's Grave

As we head  into the new year the wintry weather continues with heavy rain and wind leaving the course unplayable. To date we have received 28.3mm of rain since 1st January with more wet weather forecast! Despite this work to the bunkers has been possible with the initial sanding having been completed to the 9th green side. This has transformed the hole especially when viewed from the tee. The bunkers will remain as G.U.R. and out of play. It will be a case of turfing and finishing the bunkers  as and when the weather allows. On a positive note the selected tree work have been completed and the remaining timber removed from the course. Members are welcome to help themselves to wood from the visitors car park in return for a donation to the Captain’s charity. Several people have asked why the phone message is not up dated earlier in the mornings. In reality it is dark until 8am and it would be unfair to make a decision to open or close the course by looking at the putting green or 18th alone without conducting a full inspection of the entire course.
